The research group “Governance in Emerging Economies” is run by Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (RUG) and PFH- Private University Göttingen.

 

The research group is based in Berlin, geographically half way from both cities and close to German policy-makers and think tanks.

 

The group consists of two academic directors, Prof. Dr. Joachim Ahrens and Prof. Dr. Herman Hoen, one team leader, Christian Timm, four PhD students and a student assistant. Two local supervisors, Prof. Dr. EldarMadumarov and Prof. Dr. David Sikharulidze, are accompanying the group’s work.

 

Important constituent of the work presents a close collaboration with partner universities in the regions, the KIMEP University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and the Tbilisi State University in Tbilisi, Georgia. The promotion of research activities, the integration of young scholars as well as capacity building are part of the research group’s objectives.

 

The research group is open for associated researchers and external co-operations.
