Franziska has graduated in Political Sciences and Economics at the University of Heidelberg before starting her master's degree at King's College London in International Development Studies. Meanwhile she got professional experience at the German Foreign Office (Embassy Brasilia) and the German Development Agency (GIZ) in Bosnia and Herzegovina through internships. She then completed the 49th postgraduate programme at the DeutschesInstitutfürEntwicklungspolitik / German Development Institute (DIE) doing research and policy-advising on foreign direct investment in India. In 2014, Franziska has joined the the policy-advising think tank Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) and is now working on the Department for Asia and the Pacific on Trade Questions and Industrial Policies. Thus, Franziska's interest in finding out more on the determinants of success in economic development of low-and-middle countries derives mostly from her professional engagement within this field.
